Bitaco™ Unique Colombian Tea is a High Grown tea produced between 1.800 and 2.050 meters above sea level on the west Andes Mountains at La Cumbre, Colombia. We are located in the region of bio-geographic Choco which extends from Panama, going through Colombia, to the north coast of Peru, characterized by its high level of rainfall and biodiversity.
Our nearness to Ecuador allows the entry almost perpendicular of sun rays to the surface, contributing to photosynthesis process and to increase the productivity in our crops. The condition of dry and rainy seasons result in a great production of Tips throughout the year in our fields.
itaco™ Unique Colombian Tea is a tea that grows in evolving, young soils, rich in organic material, with fine deposits of volcanic ashes and barely altered basalt flows. The high levels of organic material have a positive effect on the structuring of aggregates, stability, retention and regulation of humidity.
Our tea is grown in soils rich in Nitrogen, Zinc, Coal and Copper which contribute respectively with the development of plenty of two leaves and a bud, its quality and the tea fermentation process. Bitaco™ Unique Colombian Tea has a unique microclimate characterized by an annual precipitation between 1.200 and 1.800 mm, a relative humidity between 79% and 83%, a temperature ranging from 18°-24° Celsius, and an average of 4 daily hours of sunshine; all this provides unique conditions for our tea development.
Our tea achieves to strengthen farm honey taste, tropical sweetness and pacific sea breeze in a unique flavor experience.
Looking after the environment as a fundamental unit for human welfare and for sustaining the farming production. Preserving the Andean fog forest ecosystem belonging to 91 hectares of its own, surrounded by Bitaco Regional Forest Reserve where our garden is a biological corridor allowing the conservation of spring waters along with the ecosystems of 256 species of birds, 28 of amphibians, 23 of reptiles and 772 of flora, which have been detected heretofore by the local environmental authorities.
